message.
c) Networking.- this operation mode is selected when we require to extend the
coverage area using other(s) EDM-3 for it.
Ø Networking configuration.
The system can operate using radios in carrier squelch mode also, but this has the
inconvenience that the mobile unit, will listen the echo twice, when the signal is
originated by point A or B.
Moreover when the mobile unit originates the transmission, this one will have some
problems especially in the coverage area overlap of the sites 1 and 2 presenting the
capture effect phenomenon (prevalence of the strongest signal) on the mobile receiver
radio.
If we do not want to include any mobile unit into the system, we can use radios in carrier
squelch mode. Also we have to configure the EDM-3 to operate in carrier squelch
mode, please refer to adjust section to make the correct configuration.
If a mobile unit is included, or interference is not wanted, we should operate the EDM-3
in COR mode, and use signaling in the radios, also we have to locate in the radio a
voltage change point when a CTCSS or DCS signal is received.
This operation mode is very useful especially when our system is located in a very
populated site and there are many interference sources.
