IMPORTANT: check that the thermometer does not have fractions on the mercury column, in the
contrary case contact the producer. Before using the unit, it is necessary to clean it carefully inside
and out, as described in paragraph 6 below.
USE AND ADJUSTMENT
To start the machine, connect the plug to the power supply, and, before introducing the eggs, wait
for the incubator to reach the working temperature (look at the manuals relative to the relevant
incubated species). For the eggs of reptiles and turtles, it is advisable to use plastic containers with
transpiring lids (make small holes of 2-3 mm), placing on the same peat or vermiculite damp to
ensure the egg buried a high degree of humidity inside. The most suitable mixture for a substrate
should be composed of : Black peat, soil and sand not used in equal parts, all sterilized in the oven at
100 degrees for 20 minutes and sufficiently moistened: wet for the Tact but not soaked with
moisture. It is strongly advised to bring the level of the substrate to about 1 cm from the edge of the
lower part of an incubator, possibly plugging with a little gauze or cloth the two holes. Only then,
putting also a small basin of water in the side, we will be able to reach a critical mass that will allow
to increase the humidity until a level close to 80 %, and therefore opportune has the correct
incubation of the eggs that will be buried for 3/4 in the substrate.
Periodically (once a week) it will be necessary to control that the humidity of the substratum is
sufficient, perhaps adding one or 2 blows of warm water in substratum, far from the eggs. On the
incubator it is collocated the electronic thermostat that is regulated by the factory, when the same
one is fed, the green "led" -PWR- results to light, the continuous or intermittent lighting of the red
"led" -ON- indicates the activation of the heating. If the thermometer does not reach the working
temperature, it is necessary to calibrate the thermostat as follows: modify the temperature (if
necessary) with a screwdriver, acting on the regulation screw, and bringing the arrow of the reset
button -SET- in correspondence with the requested value.
IMPORTANT: if all attempts to calibrate the appliance should prove useless, do not under any
circumstances remove the thermoregulator from its housing to carry out improper and unauthorized
operations; contact the manufacturer for any repairs or replacements.
HUMIDITY
For a correct humidification during the phase of incubation and hatching, maintain periodically
always humid the substratum in which the eggs are inserted, adding warm water. Attention: for
many species of eggs this humidity rate is not sufficient, for the eggs of exotic species is necessary to
use plastic containers with pass lids (to make small holes of 2-3 mm for the transpiration), to position
in the same ones of humid peat or VERMICULAR or sand so that the caved egg has always assured a
high degree of humidity inside.
VENTILATION
During the period of incubation must be guaranteed always a correct exchange of the air therefore
the holes of ventilation always will not have to be tightened, because in this last case they would be
considerably out of phase the values of the temperature and humidity undermining the results of
