3.2.1. Checking correct functionality of the System

Always check System functionality before use. Use of the system when signs of anomaly appear must be considered as being performed
at the user's own risk.
After putting on the System, switch it on and step outside where the GPS signal can be correctly received. When you see a blue LED
signal every two seconds, this means that the System is ready for use. For more details, check the flashing codes in the previous
paragraph "Guide to user interface LED sequences during use".
●●● IMPORTANT: before using the D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST. always check that the System has correctly identified the GPS
signal, as the System will only function in this case.

3.3. Triggering of the D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST

The sensors installed inside the back protector of the D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST constantly monitor its dynamics; information from the
sensors is processed by the central unit and, if the values registered exceed the preset thresholds, the System inflates the airbag.
The road accident conditions for which the D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST System is triggered are:

collision with an obstacle

Highside

Lowside with tumbling
The impact conditions for which the D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST System has received certification are described in Figure 1.
The D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST inflation time can vary according to circumstances and the intensity of the event considered and has
been designed to remain inflated for around 5 seconds after being triggered.
The GPS antenna included in the system monitors whether the system is moving or is stopped, excluding activation at speeds below
10Km/h.
●●● IMPORTANT: the D-AIR STREET SMART CHEST is not activated at speeds below 10km/h, or when the GPS signal is unavailable.
If the GPS signal is unavailable or is temporarily lost while riding (e.g. while travelling through a tunnel), the D-AIR STREET SMART
CHEST is maintained either disabled or enabled, based on the last speed value detected via GPS.
