Deadman's handle
•
Check whether the deadman's handle returns to the neutral position.
•
Check the operation of the deadman's handle. Have the Holmatro dealer repair the deadman's
handle if it does not function properly.

Blades
See Fig. 6.
•
Check the blades for damage. Have a Holmatro Certified Technician replace the blades when they
are damaged or the blade tips are damaged or worn.
•
Check whether the blades are straight. Have a Holmatro Certified Technician replace the blades if
there is more than 0.6 mm (C) separation.
8.5.6
BCU 05 / BCU 10, Lubricate the hinge points and blades without disassembly
Hinge points
•
Spray a small quantity of Teflon in the hinge areas and the hinge points while the blades are still
attached.
•
This is best done while the blades are opening or closing.
Blades
Refer to Fig. 11.
•
Remove the screw (3) in the cutter bolt (7).
•
Remove the cover ring (4).
•
Remove the toothed locking disc (5).
•
Loosen the castle nut (6).
•
Grease the blades through the nipple (8), using Molykote BR2 grease.
•
Install the castle nut (6) and tighten with a torque of 50 Nm.
•
Position the toothed locking disc (5) by rotating or to turn around the ring in such a way that:

The inside notches match with the teeth on the cutter bolt (7)
-
The outside teeth match with the crenels on the castle nut (6).
•
Install the cover ring (4).
•
Install the screw (3) in the cutter bolt (7).
Change the blades and lubricate the parts
Refer to Fig. 11
Remove the old blades:
•
Remove the screws (1) in the hinge pins.
•
Remove the hinge pins (2).
•
Remove the screw (3) in the cutter bolt.
•
Remove the cover ring (4) and the toothed locking disc (5).
•
Remove the castle nut (6).
•
Remove the cutter bolt (7).
•
Now the blades can be taken away including the sliding plates (9).
Lubricate the parts:
•
Clean and degrease the cutter blades, cutter bolt and hinge pins.
•
Spray the indicated areas (Fig. 12/1) with Teflon spray only.
•
Apply a thin layer of Molykote BR2 grease to the highlighted areas (Fig. 12/2).
Install the new blades:
•
Position the new blades including the sliding plates (9).
•
Install the hinge pins (2).
