FIRST USE – BURN-OFF
Before cooking on your firepit for the first time, it is important to complete a burn-off. Light the
firepit and let it burn for for 20 to 30 minutes to rid it of any foreign matter.

LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS

1.
Swing the Cooking Grid to the side. Remove the Lid and set aside.
NOTE: When cooking in the Firepit, remove the Lid of the Charcoal Pan to
prevent grease build-up.
2.
Place one lighter cube (or solid firestarter) and one handful of small amount of kindling
at the bottom of the Charcoal Pan.
3.
Place firewood on top of kindling or Firestarter.
4.
Use either a long handled lighter or match to light kindling or firestarter.
WARNING: Do not use gasoline, white spirit, lighter fluid, alcohol or other
similar chemicals for lighting or relighting.

TENDING THE FIRE

1.
Using a heat resistant glove or mitt, swing the Cooking Grid to the side. Remove the Lid
and set it aside.
2.
Observe the fire in the Fire Bowl. If the heat is low and more fire is desired, place
additional firewood carefully and directly on the hot coals.
WARNING: Hot embers may result in injury if disturbed too quickly. Careful
to not disturb the ash in the Charcoal Pan.

EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE

1.
To extinguish the fire, allow all coals to burn out.
WARNING: Do not use water to put out the Firepit. This can be harmful to
the structure of the firepit and heavily decrease its lifetime.
