How do ear thermometer measurements compare to
temperature readings taken
using other methods?
Ear measurements and oral measurements are comparable; the
normal range of temperatures is 97.0° F to 99.0° F (36.1° C – 37.2°
C). Rectal temperatures are typically 1.0° F (0.5° C) higher, while
underarm temperatures are 1.0° F (0.5° C) lower.
