Which ear should I use
when taking measurements?
There is generally no significant difference between ear
temperatures, although special conditions such as infection, ear
canal drainage, or previous ear surgery may make one ear more
suitable than the other. For best results, always use the same ear
to take measurements for the same patient.
Why do different ears in the same
patient produce different readings?
Individual variations or a differing amount of wax or dirt in the ears
may cause different readings. The position of the probe may also
produce differing results. For best results, always use the same ear
to take measurements for the same patient.
Can the Instant ear Thermometer
be used to measure temperature
at sites on the body other than the ear?
No. This thermometer is designed specifically for ear temperature
measurements.
