6.7
Filling the installation
Take special care when filling the heating system. In particular, open any thermostat valves in the system, ensure the water
enters slowly in order to prevent the formation of air inside the primary circuit until operating pressure is reached. Lastly,
vent any radiators in the system. BAXI declines all liability for damage deriving from the presence of air bubbles in the
primary exchanger due to the incorrect or imprecise observance of the above.
Before filling the CH system, flush it with care.
The filling knob is light blue and located under the boiler, as shown in the
picture to the side. To fill the system, proceed as follows:
• Pull the knob (A) downwards to release it from its seat.
• Slowly turn the knob anticlockwise (to the left) to fill the system. Do this by
hand without using any tools.
• Fill the system until the reading on the pressure gauge (B) is between 1.0
and 1.5 bar.
• Close the tap and check that no water leaks out.
• Return the knob to its original position.
6.7.1
Washing the system
Installing the boiler on new systems (ones less than 6 months old):
• Clean the system with a universal detergent, removing all traces left over
from installation (copper, lint, solder wire).
• Flush the system until the water comes out clean without any impurities.
Installing the boiler on existing systems:
• Eliminate all sludge in the system.
• Flush the system.
• Clean the system with a universal detergent, removing all traces left over from installation (copper, lint, solder wire).
• Flush the system until the water comes out clean without any impurities.
For information regarding water treatment, refer to chapter 5.2.2.
6.7.2
Filling the siphon
There is a plastic plate on the flue outlet hole at the top of the boiler that holds the exchanger in place during transport. Before
removing this plate, fill the siphon by pouring water in the hole (A) until it comes out of the outlet of the siphon (B) as shown in
the figure. After filling the siphon, release the four clips (C) to remove the plastic plate (D) and install the flue turret as described
in section 6.5.
