7.
COMMISSIONING
7.1
General
The boiler has to be commissioned for initial use, after a long period of inactivity or after any other event that requires it to be
reignited. Commissioning the boiler gives the user an opportunity to check the various controls and settings for igniting the boiler
in complete safety.
7.2
Checklist before commissioning
Carry out these checks before commissioning the boiler:
• Check that the type of gas supplied is compatible with the data on the plate on the boiler.
• Check the gas circuit.
• Check the hydraulic circuit.
• Check the flue circuit.
• Check the hydraulic pressure of the CH circuit (1,0 ÷ 1,5 bar).
• Check all the connections, and in particular the wiring of the thermostat, external sensor (when applicable) and other external
components.
7.3
Commissioning procedure
To commission the boiler, proceed as follows:
• Open the main gas tap.
• Open the gas tap on the boiler.
• Open the front panel (section 6.2.3).
• Check the gas supply pressure at the pressure tap of the gas valve (section 7.4.2.).
• Check the airtightness of the boiler's gas connections before the gas valve.
• Check the airtightness of the gas duct and the gas valves. The test pressure must not exceed 60 mbar (6 kPa).
• Purge the gas supply duct by undoing the pressure tap of the gas valve. Close the tap when the duct has been sufficiently
purged.
• Check the siphon, which should be full of water (section 6.7.2.).
• Check that the hydraulic connections are fully airtight.
• Check the airtightness/condition of the flue ducts.
• Make sure to remove the jumper on terminal X8 (chapter 6.6.1.) before connecting a Room thermostat / Room unit.
• Power the boiler at the two-pole switch.
When the boiler is powered, the following information appears on the display:
• all symbols alight (1 second);
• software version of the control panel dx.x. (1 second);
• The message "Inl" appears, indicating that the "initialisation" phase is in progress (a few seconds);
• All turns off (1 second);
• The message "Fx.x." appears indicating the software version of the board (2 seconds);
• The message "Px.x." appears indicating the software version of the parameters (2 seconds);
• The boiler and CH system venting phase begins. The display shows "t17", as indicated in chapter 9.2. This phase takes 4
minutes and 30 seconds. After this period, the boiler performs an ignition test lasting 30 seconds, and the display shows the
symbol (burner on). At the end of the venting phase, the boiler is ready for operation;
• "OFF" appears (the knobs are fully rotates clockwise at the factory).
In case of power failure or lack of gas the procedure will be repeated from the beginning.
To activate the DHW or the central heating, it is necessary to first define a setpoint value, by rotating the corresponding knob as
described in chapter 5.1 of the user manual.
The "Initialisation procedure" occurs only during first ignition of the boiler. This procedure involves a set of tests, after
which the system is automatically vented for a period of 5 minutes. To manually activate the function, press and hold RESET
for 5 seconds (once the function is active, it cannot be interrupted).
