OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Preparing The Grill Before Cooking
Cooking System Check
Before cooking on your pellet grill, be sure to follow these instructions for first time use or when
the hopper has run out of pellets. A failed ignition will occur if these instructions are not followed.
Remove all packaging, hang tags, plastic straps, and sales stickers if present. Do not use sharp
tools.
1. Remove the cooking grates and grease tray from the inside of the grill.
2. Open the hopper lid and check for any foreign objects that
may block the auger from turning. If no foreign objects are
found, fill the hopper with wood grilling pellets. Only use
pellets designed for use with pellet grills or smokers. DO
NOT place pellets in the crucible by hand.
3. Plug the power cord into a GCFI outlet. Press the Power
Button to turn the unit ON and turn the Temperature
Control Dial to the SMOKE position.
A. Locate the fire pot inside the grill and visually check
to see if the auger is turning.
B. Carefully place your hand above the fire pot to feel for
air flow. Do not place your hands or fingers inside the
fire pot as injury may occur.
C. Within two minutes, the ignitor should create smoke
and a burning smell which indicates the ignitor is
getting hot. Do not touch the ignitor to verify as this
will cause injury.
4. After verifying that the auger is turning, the ignitor is on
and air is flowing through the fire pot, turn the dial to "Shut Down Cycle". The control panel will
display "OFF" and grill will automatically begin shutting down with the fan blowing, for
approximately 10 minutes. You do not have to wait for the cycle to complete before turning the
grill back on.
5. Once the grill has cooled, re-install the grease tray and cooking grates into the grill. If needed,
wash the cooking grates with warm, soapy water, rinse and allow to completely dry before
placing them back into the grill.
Pre-Seasoning The Grill
Once the Cooking System Check is complete and your hopper has properly delivered pellets to the
fire pot, it is highly recommended that the grill is pre-seasoned before cooking. Seasoning helps
eliminate potential factory residue that occurs during production and enhances flavoring, durability,
and overall performance.
Turn on the grill by pressing the Power Button. Turn the control dial to the "High" position and allow
the grill to burn for at least 45 minutes. Your grill is now ready to use.
WARNING: DO NOT leave the flywheel open during the pre-seasoning process.
