The toothed rack is set at the factory so that it does not move beyond the mark indicated by
a red arrow. When the spot is reached, the adhesive application is interrupted.

5.2.4. Changing the nozzle

1. Loosen the fastening screws on the underside, remove the nozzle and dispose of it.
2. Fit the new nozzle and fix it with the fastening screws.
3. If there is hardened adhesive in the feed channel and inside the nozzle foot,
remove it manually.
4. Liquid adhesive does not need to be removed.

5.2.5. Subfloor structure

The subfloor must meet the requirements of DIN 18356 for an optimal application pattern
and function of the adhesive and must be ready for laying. If necessary, the subfloor must
be prepared for laying by taking suitable measures. You will find the corresponding Bona

6. Maintenance and cleaning

6.1. Maintenance

The Bona OptiSpread UX is maintenance-free when used properly, carefully and in
accordance with the instructions manual.

6.2. Cleaning

The Bona OptiSpread UX is factory fitted with a PTFE working piston. The use of any
lubricants, greases, oils or similar is not permitted. Therefore, if necessary, clean the inside of
the pipe only with compressed air or a clean, lint-free cotton cloth or Bona Cleaning Wipes.
The upper part of the filling tube as well as the outer thread tend to be exposed to the most
contamination from fresh adhesive, which can get onto the thread and the inside of the filling
tube in very small quantities when the tubular bag is changed. These fresh adhesive spills
should be removed immediately with Bona Cleaning Wipes, as an accumulation of adhesive
in the threads or the inside of the tube can lead to unwanted adhesive leakage.

6.3. Cleaning the adhesive nozzle

Basically, the adhesive nozzle is designed as a single-use nozzle that can be disposed of
after the construction project is finished. Nevertheless, the nozzle is in any case suitable for
multiple use. However, it is not necessary to specify a specific range, as the nozzle itself
has a long service life due to the resistant material and with regular cleaning and correct
handling.
Regular cleaning of the affected parts of the machine guarantee a long lasting
function of the Bona OptiSpread UX and an even lower cleaning effort after
finishing your work!
