Connecting encoders
NOTICE
If the supply voltage range or the wiring is incorrect,
there is a hazard of damaging the product and the
encoder!
Note the supply voltage range of the connected
encoder.
Verify that the connecting cable between the encoder
and the product is correctly wired.
Do not engage or disengage the connecting cable
between the encoder and the product while under
power.
The connection of non-HEIDENHAIN encoders to the
product and the operation of the product with non-
HEIDENIAN encoders are at the user's own risk.
Connections
Encoders with 15-pin interfaces are connected to the
encoder inputs X11 to X14 provided on the front panel.
For information on the location of the connections, see
"Product overview", page 26.
For more information on the connections, see
"Specifications", page 35.

Connecting the encoder cables
Connect the cables of the encoders tightly to the
respective connections on the rear panel.
If the cable connectors include mounting screws, do not
overtighten them.
Vacant pins or wires must not be used.
