Helpful Tips

Here are a few helpful tips to help you obtain more accurate readings:
• Do not measure your blood pressure immediately after consuming a large meal.
• To obtain more accurate readings, please wait one hour after meal before measuring.
• Do not smoke or drink alcohol before measuring your blood pressure.
• You should not be physically tired or exhausted while taking a measurement
• It is important that you relax during measurement.
• Try to rest for 15 minutes before taking a measurement.
• Do not take measurements if you are under stress or tense.
• Take your blood pressure at normal body temperature. If you are feeling cold or hot, wait a while before
taking a measurement.
• Wait about 3 minutes before taking the next measurement.
• Take the measurement in a silent room
• Do not move or talk when taking a measurement.
Troubleshooting
If any faults should occur during use, please check the following points.
Symptoms
No display when the ON/OFF/
START key is pressed
EE mark shown on display or the
blood pressure value is displayed
excessively low (high)
Notes:
1. If the unit still does not work, return it to your dealer. Under no circumstance should you disassemble
and repair the unit by yourself.
2. For a guide to the error messages that appear on the display see the instructions on page 19.
Transfer of information to pc (optional)
The DATACHECK kit is sold separately from the sphygmomanometer and includes software on a CD ROM,
USB connection lead and user manual. DATACHECK allows you to transfer pressure readings from the
sphygmomanometer to your PC and analyse them with specific calculation tools. You can also send this
information to a remote PC, for example to your doctor's computer. All you need to do is download the
software and follow the DATACHECK instructions.
Note: the software provides no diagnosis.
Control
Have the batteries run down?
Are the batteries positioned the
wrong way round?
Is the cuff placed correctly?
Did you talk or move?
Was the cuff shaken when
measuring?

Correction
Replace them with new alkaline
batteries.
Re-insert the batteries in the
correct positions.
Wrap the cuff properly so that it is
positioned correctly.
Measure it again, staying still.
Keep the wrist steady during
measurement
