Troubleshooting guide
Symptom
Low power and/ or low free speed.
Air leakage at the speed control.
Vibration / rough operation.
Possible cause
Speed control set to low speed.
Low air pressure.
Plugged air inlet screen.
Internal air leakage in the motor
housing.
Worn or broken vanes.
Housing cracked or damaged.
Dirty, broken or bent valve spring,
valve or valve seat.
Incorrect assembly of air valve.
Worn or broken motor bearing(s).
Low motor speed.
Solution
Turn the speed control to desired
speed.
Check air supply (according to operat-
ing instructions).
Clean or replace the screen.
Check motor assembly and alignment.
Check air inlet O-ring alignment on
motor assembly.
Install a complete set of new vanes
and rotor.
Contact Mirka authorized service
centre.
Disassemble, inspect and replace worn
or damaged parts.
Remove air inlet connection and reas-
semble the air valve, with the valve
stem in its upper position.
Replace the worn or broken bearings.
Increase motor speed with flow regu-
lator, max 6.2 bar (90 psig).
