Setting up the spotting scope
Ideally the spotting scope should be on a tripod of suitable loadbearing capacity
(Tripod included). Your spotting scope has a tripod thread to DIN standard (6). It
can therefore be attached to any tripod with a DIN standard thread.

IMPORTANT:

Remove the protective caps from the tube and eyepiece. Be sure to replace the
protective caps on the lenses each time after using the spotting scope.
Operation
• Focus wheel: Look into the eyepiece (1) and turn the focus wheel (3) in either
direction to focus on an object.
• Zoom: Rotate the zoom wheel (2) to zoom in or out of an object. Then use the
focus wheel (3) to focus.
• Moving the main tube: The spotting scope has a main tube clamp (7) and
fastening screw (8). Turn the screw (8) counter-clockwise to undo the main tube
clamp. You can then turn the entire main tube (4) about its own axis and thus
vary the eyepiece (1) position. To fasten the main tube in the desired position
turn the fastening screw clockwise.
• Indoor use and outdoor use: Even if you should occasionally observe objects
through an open or closed window, the best results are still achieved outside.
Temperature differences between the indoor and outdoor air as well as the
low quality of window glass can cause images through the spotting scope to
become blurred.
• Sun shield: You can extend the sun shield (5) in poor visibility conditions
caused by strong sunshine, by simply sliding it.
