COLOR
As its name suggests, COLOR modifies the "color" of the system, in terms of harmonic level: a brighter or a flatter
sound? By setting this knob to 12 o'clock, no change will happen. Turning it to the left applies a Low Pass Filter.
On the other hand, turning it to the right will apply a wavefolder and even an overdrive.
It also controls the brigthness and decay of the resonator (it will be explained below). COLOR also modifies the
speed of the chaos between the particles of the system (CLUSTER from 12 o'clock to the left).
Edits how much the final sound will be filtered when there is signal at the EXCITER input (from a VCA to a VCFA).
ORBITS
This potentiometer shares the same name as the ORBITS menu, but actually, its function is different. All the great
system (sound) created with LANIAKEA can feed a built-in resonator. Yes! This module has a modal resonator that
will allow to simulate different bodies: plastics, tubes, bells and even strings. An innovative string system is in-
cluded in the resonator, making it possible to simulate "pizzicatos" and percussive strings. The mix between the
classic oscillator and the resonator is interpolated.
The brightness and the decay of the resonator are adjusted with COLOR and its structure (shape) with SHAPE.
Modifies the decay time of the EXCITER input.
EFFECTS
A Stereo Reverb effect is applied to the final sound. The reverb time increases as the knob is turned clockwise. If
EFFECTS is turned fully CW, the reverb buffer will "freeze" and the sound will not fade out, like a "drone" sound.
Meanwhile, the new timbres and melodies produced with LANIAKEA will sound in the foreground along with this
background layer of textures.
Nothing.
