To obtain an optimum grinding result and to wear
the grinding disc (12) evenly, the workpiece should
be moved slightly back and forth on the grinding
disc (12).
Always allow the workpiece to cool down.
Attention!
If the disc/wheel should jam while working, please re-
move your workpiece and wait until the device has
reached its maximum speed again.
Polishing
Apply polishing compound (27) in a thin layer to the
polishing wheel (2).
Press the workpiece against the polishing wheel
in a pendulum motion in the direction of rotation.
Always polish in the direction of rotation of the pol-
ishing wheel (2).
Attention!
Polishing against the direction of rotation of the pol-
ishing wheels can damage the polishing wheels and
thus cause injuries.
Replacing the grinding disc / polishing wheel
(Fig. 5+6)
m WARNING!
- The grinding disc (12) or polishing wheel (2) used
must never be larger than the prescribed diam-
eter.
- Change the grinding disc (12) or polishing wheel
(2) if the outer diameter is less than 50 mm.
• Using a Phillips screwdriver, rotate out the fixing
screw (39) of the side protective covers (40). Re-
move the protective covers (40) on both sides (Fig.
6).
• If you wish to change the polishing wheel (2), remove
the locking pin (38a) of the flexible shaft attachment
(38). Then pull the flexible shaft attachment (38) off
the shaft (34).
• Unscrew the union nut (37) from the shaft (34) us-
ing a 17 mm spanner. Hold the grinding disc (12) or
polishing wheel (2) with one hand to build up coun-
ter-pressure.
• Remove the tension washer (36) and grinding (12) or
polishing wheel (2).
• Place the new grinding disc (12) or polishing wheel
(2) on the shaft (34).
• Push the tension washer (36) back onto the shaft
(34)
• Screw the union nut (37) back onto the shaft (34)
• Retighten the union nut (37) firmly. Hold the grinding
disc (12) or polishing wheel (2) that has just been
fitted with one hand to build up the appropriate coun-
ter-pressure.
m WARNING!
- Never operate the grinding disc (12) or polishing
wheel (2) without the protective covers (40).
m Attention!
- Do not tighten the union nut (37) too much, other-
wise the grinding disc (12) could break.
• Refit the protective cover (40) and securely fix it by
tightening the fixing screws (39).
Fitting the flexible shaft (Fig. 1)
• Screw the flexible shaft (5) onto the connection
thread (4) of the device. The inner axis of the flexible
shaft must be pushed into the square recess on the
connection thread (4). Turn the locking nut (3) an-
ti-clockwise to tighten.
Insert tool into the flexible shaft (Fig. 1)
• To lock the spindle, push the black sleeve (6) on the
flexible shaft (5) completely back. Make sure that
the collet holder (7) can be released anti-clockwise.
Hold the black sleeve (6) in this position.
• Use the combination spanner (23) to loosen the
collet holder (7) on the flexible shaft (5).
• Insert the tool and screw the collet holder (7) back
in place.
• Release the black sleeve (6).

11. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and ready
for operation. The connection complies with the appli-
cable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the ex-
tension cable used must also comply with these reg-
ulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is often
damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Pressure points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks
