Your line trimmer has been designed to operate over
a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper
tool care and regular cleaning.
WARNING!
Before performing any
maintenance, switch off and unplug the tool.
■ Regularly clean the ventilation slot in your line
trimmer using a soft brush or dry cloth.
■ Regularly clean the cutting line and trimmer head
using a soft brush or dry cloth.
■ Regularly use a blunt scraper to remove grass and
dirt from the underside of the safety guard.
WARNING!
When servicing, use only
identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may
create a hazard or cause product damage.
REPLACING THE TRIMMER HEAD
See Figure 14.
■ Lay the product on a fl at stable surface with the
trimming head facing upward.
■ Rotate the backing fl ange until one of the notches is
aligned with the hole in the gear head.
■ Insert the spindle lock rod into the hole to lock the
spindle.
■ Unscrew the trimmer head clockwise to remove.

LINE REPLACEMENT
See Figure 15.
■ Unplug the line trimmer.
■ Press and hold the release button [A] on the trimmer
head housing. The trimming line [C] can be replaced
while the button is pressed.
■ After inserting new trimming line [C], make sure that
it sticks out evenly from both sides of the trimmer head.
NOTE: Always use .080" (2mm) round trimmer
monofi lament line as replacement line.

STORING THE TRIMMER
■ Clean all foreign material from the trimmer.
■ Store it in a place that is inaccessible to children.
■ Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden
chemicals and de-icing salts.
