INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION MEASUREMENTS - FIG. 2
a
Take the measurement A and, based on the desired opening angle (
), the value is obtained of measurement B (fastening axis of bracket
to plate).
The particular shape of the arm simplifies the choice of fastening point of the bracket on the gate.
Having defined these measurements, check you have the manoeuvre spaces necessary for the arm to complete opening movement
(measurements C and D).
EXTERNAL OPENING - FIG. 4
For gates with opening outwards, installation is necessary respecting the measurements indicated in Fig. 4.
ATTENTION!: In this type of installation, the articulated arm, with the gate open, is found in the passage area, prepare suitable
guards and signals.
REMOVAL OF CP.SAM CENTRAL UNIT - FIG. 5
To facilitate wiring and adjustment operations of the stoppage cams and fastening of the gearmotor, you are advised to remove the
control panel unit from the SAM.E24 gearmotor.
The control panel is coupled to the motor unit, and can be released by simply pressing the coupling tabs L.
At the end of the operation, re-insert the control panel. If necessary, you can fasten the two screws V highlighted in Fig. 5.
WALL BRACKET - FIG. 6
With reference to the figure, mark the 4 holes for fastening the gearmotor to the pillar.
Respect the indicated orientation (arrow turned upwards).
Respect the minimum measurement of 140 mm indicated to avoid installation of the gearmotor too close to the ground.
Prepare the duct for cable passage. The SAM gearmotor is equipped with a practical and innovative rubber cable gland for passage of
the connection cables. Use scissors to open the most suitable passage for the type of cable used. The cable gland has the diameters
of the cables indicated in mm.
WALL BRACKET FASTENING - FIG. 7
With reference to the figure, make 4 holes with an adequate diameter for the type of plugs used for fastening the gearmotor to the pillar.
You are not advised to install the gearmotor too near the ground (see minimum measurement 140mm).
If the installation measurement is however less than 250 mm, for easier installation, you are advised to pre-assemble the articulated arm
(see " SAM.BA ARTICULATED ARM ASSEMBLY").
When the fastening zones are thin or however weak, reinforce these zones.
If the fastening surface is highly irregular (e.g. stone wall), use the threaded bars with chemical fastening and using the 4 support counter-
nuts (D1) appropriated adjusted, create a support base which is perfectly vertical for the plate.
Respect the 30mm measurement indicated to avoid interference between the threaded bar and the base of the gearmotor.
Then, fasten the plate with 4 nuts D2.
Having fastened the bracket to the wall, you can fasten the actuator using the two screws V supplied, as highlighted in the figure.
SAM.BA ARTICULATED ARM ASSEMBLY -FIG. 8
- Release the gearmotor (see "Emergency manual manoeuvre" paragraph)
- Insert pivot P in the hold of the motor shaft A
- Join the arm B1 to the arm B2 and block it with the pivot T1 and the fastening ring S1
- Fasten them to the motor shaft A and fasten it using the screw D positioning the washer R and N
- Couple the arm to the bracket SN and fasten it with pin T2 and the release ring S2.
Similarly, install the gearmotor on the other gate.
With the gearmotor released, check the manoeuvre spaces of the two articulated arms.
ARM FASTENING TO GATE FIG. 9
The SAM.BA arm avails of a particular mechanical locking system that simplifies positioning on the gate.
With the gearmotor released, completely extend the SAM.BA arm.
With the gate in the closure position, bring the bracket to rest on the gate. This is the correct fastening point.
Mark the two drilling points and proceed to fasten the bracket using the plugs or another suitable system.
The mechanical locking system of the arm also allows the mechanical stops on the ground to be avoided, if it is not possible to install them.
EMERGENCY MANUAL MANOUEVRE - FIG.10
To manually move the door during the installation phases or in the event of an electrical power cut or a fault:
- Lift the sliding hatch L
- Insert the customised key C, rotate it ANTI-CLOCKWISE by approx. 90°.
- Pull the lever M to release the automation. The lever remains spontaneously in the release position
- Manually push the gate, to open and close it.
- To re-establish normal operation, bring lever M to the initial position and keep it in the position by lightly pressing. Rotate key C
CLOCKWISE by approx. 90° to lock the lever M in the initial position.
- Activate the gate manually until it engages.
- Close the sliding hatch L.
ADJUSTMENT MECHANICAL STOPS - FIG.11
Both the SAM gearmotors are supplied with an adjustable mechanical stop, to install as indicated in Fig. 11 to stop the gate in the
desired opening position.
You are advised to install the mechanical stop on ground closure, if this is not possible an additional stop (SAM.STOP) is available to
also stop closure movement.
