Use of transmitted light illumination

When working in transmitted light make sure that the
fluorescence filter holder turret is in an empty position.
However, if the turret is full, make sure that the UV
(DAPI) position is selected to prevent colors from the
fluorescence filters from damaging the image quality in
transmitted light.
1. Set the main switch ① to "I" to turn on the base. (Fig. 18)
2. Turn the light intensity adjustment knob ② to adjust the
brightness to the sample under observation.
3. Move the lever ③ located on the right side of the base. (Fig.
19)
This lever controls a black foil which slides horizontally along
the light exit.
Using the OIC (Oblique Illumination Contrast) system allows
you to modulate the light to obtain three different types of
observation.
4. When the foil is outside the optical path (Fig. 20), brightfield
(BF) observation is obtained.
5. When the foil is completely inside the optical path (Fig. 21),
dark field (DF) observation is obtained.
