FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW TO USE:
How does O3 Washer work?
O3 Washer uses the cleaning and sanitizing power
of activated oxygen. This extra molecule of oxygen
is an amazing disinfectant that is 3,000 times more
reactive than chlorine bleach! The ozone in cold
water breaks down cell walls of micro-organisms
and kills them over prolonged exposure.
Large hospitals and hotels have used this
technology for over 20 years to keep their linens
sanitized and bacteria-free. O3 Washer takes that
same technology and scales it down to an
appliance that you can use in your own home.
Can I use O3 Washer with my delicate clothes?
We always recommend that you follow the
guidelines provided by your clothing manufacturer
just as you would with laundry detergent. O3
Washer is an excellent solution for washing delicate
clothing because it uses cold water and cleans
without the use of harsh chemicals.
Can I use O3 Washer to clean my cloth diapers?
We have several customers that are using O3
Washer to disinfect and clean their cloth diapers
and have received great reviews! No hot wash nor
any extra rinse cycle is required. The active oxygen
injected into the water by O3 Washer is highly
effective at breaking down organic stains. It's 3,000
times more reactive than chlorine bleach! This lends
itself extremely well to the type of stains usually
found in cloth diapers. Just wash as normal using
cold water for both your wash and rinse cycles. O3
Washer treats all the water entering your washer,
meaning your wash and rinse cycles are both
powerful wash/disinfect cycles.
Should I pre-treat stains?
O3 Washer cleans your normal, everyday organic
stains incredibly well. In fact, it cleans your clothes
better than detergent because is kills the bacteria,
germs, and odor that comes with stains. However,
there are some tough stains that you need to
pre-treat before washing with O3 Washer. Oil and
grease stains can be especially difficult to remove.
Bottom line – ALWAYS pre-treat stains.
Should I use bleach?
Bleach is best known for its ability to whiten and
brighten your white clothing, and generally requires
that you wash your clothes in hot water when
bleaching. We don't recommend using bleach when
washing with O3 Washer, but if you are looking for a
great way to brighten your clothes without the use of
harsh chemicals and hot water, we suggest adding
about a quarter cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle of
your wash. This will brighten the clothing, as well as
add another level of softening.
Should I use detergent?
One of the great benefits of O3 Washer is that you
can reduce or eliminate the use of chemical-filled
detergents. O3 Washer kills mold and bacteria and
softens clothes without detergent. However, just like
when you are using detergent, pre-treatment is
needed to remove tough stains. We recommend
finding an all-natural or enzyme stain remover to use
before washing your clothes.
Some people like the fragrance that comes with
using detergent. O3 Washer will leave your clothes
smelling fresh and clean, but if you prefer fragrance,
we recommend adding a few drops of your favorite
essential oil to the rinse cycle.
Detergent will not harm your clothes when using O3
Washer. However, using detergent can cause a
buildup of chemicals in your clothing that can be
harmful for your skin. If you want to continue using
detergent, we recommend reducing the amount
used to a 25% of what you have used in the past. O3
Washer will actually enhance the detergent's
abilities to fight stains because of the oxygen in the
water.
Should I use hot or cold water?
Using hot water will not harm your clothes when
running O3 Washer, but we don't recommend using
hot water for the following reasons:
-
Hot water is costly on your wallet and the environ-
ment, as it requires a lot of energy to heat up.
Hot water is hard on your clothing and will cause
-
your clothes to not last very long.
Hot water dissipates the extra oxygen produced
-
by Cleozone too quickly. The positive benefits of
O3 Washer won't be possible when you use hot
water.
