INTRODUCTION
The body has two different types of nerve fiber:
a) Unmyelinated nerve fibers with continuous,
slow relaying of stimuli.
b) Myelinated nerve fibers with saltatory, fast relaying of stimuli.

AUTONOMIC (unmyelinated)
NERVE FIBERS (smooth musculature, organs)

Stimulation of the vascular muscles

Stimulation of the intestinal muscles*
* smooth musculature (muscles of the internal organs,
deep lying – involuntarily contracting muscles)
