9. Slip a compression nut, the small hole end
first, onto each of the pipe ends. Follow each
compression nut with a brass ferrule. Slide
each brass compression ferrule up 1/4" from
the cut end of the pipe. See Figure 4.
NOTICE: Be sure that the incoming water
supply is going into the filter head opening
marked "IN".

10. Insert the copper pipe into the left-hand
compression fitting, making sure that the
copper pipe bottoms out inside the fitting.
Tighten the compression nut securely with
the wrench. Hold the fitting with a wrench
to prevent over tightening it in the housing.
11. Repeat Step 10 with the right hand compres-
sion fitting.

your water pipes are used to ground your
house's electrical system, install a No. 4
AWG jumper wire (or larger) around the fil-
ter . The jumper wire must be connected at
both ends by a regulation ground clamp
that satisfies NEC or CEC and local codes.
Consult a building inspector or licensed electri-
cian for more information. See Figure 5.

12. Thread the sump back onto the head portion
of the filter housing.
13. Slowly turn on the water supply.
14. Check the entire system for leaks.
15. If leaking, shut off the water pressure and
tighten the fittings.
16. Open the faucet and flush the filter for 5
minutes.
