To ensure that you operate the pump safely, before
beginning to operate it, make sure that:
▪ The pump has been put together correctly;
▪ All the pump's safety features are in perfect condition
and working order. Never use the pump if any safety
features are missing, damaged or worn;
▪ The water inlet and turbine housing are clean and free of
obstructions. You run the risk of causing serious damage
to your pump if it is operated while containing debris it
has accumulated.
Carry out any and all adjustments and operations
necessary to assemble your pump correctly. If you have any
questions or difficulties in doing so, contact your official
distributor.
This pump has been designed to pump clean or slightly
contaminated liquids with a maximum temperature of
35°C.
Do not, under any circumstances, use the pump with
corrosive, abrasive, easily combustible or explosive
substances (such as petrol, diesel, benzene / thinner),
grease, oils, salt water and sewage (toilets and urinals).
Do not use the pump on liquids that contain sand.
Sand causes and increases pump (especially
turbine) wear and reduces flow.
Control and safety features installed on the pump must not
be removed or tampered with.
Operating Instructions
Carefully start the pump following the instructions for
usage in the instruction manual. Following these
instructions while using the pump reduces the risk of injury.
Submersible pumps are not designed to work continuously.
If used continuously, the lifespan of the pump will be
considerably reduced.
Avoid using the pump if the water outlet is either partially
or completely blocked.
Avoid running the pump dry. Operating the pump without
water damages the seals. The pump should shut down
immediately if it detects a water shortage.
The pump automatically shuts down if it overheats, which
is detected via the heat sensor which is inside the motor.
Once cool again, the engine will restart automatically.
To turn the pump off, unplug the power cable from the
socket. Do not pull on the power cord itself.
To prevent frost damage, store the pump in a dry place. If
the pump is permanently installed outdoors, before using it
in Winter check the turbine chamber for ice.
Cleaning:
The pump must be cleaned thoroughly once taken out of
the water.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. These products can
damage plastics and metals, impairing your pump from
operating safely.
Maintenance work:
Only maintenance work described in this instruction
manual may be performed on your pump. All other work
must be performed by an official distributor.
Always keep warning and instruction labels clean and
legible.
Ensure all nuts and bolts are always tightened so that the
pump is kept in safe working order.
If you remove any safety components or features for
maintenance work, they must be replaced immediately and
correctly once the work has been completed.
Use only VITO authorized couplings or accessories, or
technically identical parts, on this pump. If you do not, you
risk injuring yourself or damaging the pump.
If you lack the necessary knowledge and resources or if you
have any questions, contact an official distributor.
Your pump should only be serviced by the manufacturer's
internal service personnel, or other qualified personnel,
replacing any necessary parts with original parts sourced
directly from the manufacturer.
When installing the pump, ensure the pump is never
suspended freely from the water outlet hose or cable
or the power cord. The pump must be suspended from a
rope which is attached to the handle (4) provided for the
purpose, or placed at the bottom of the well, pool or garden
pond.
