Tightening the latches and levers
Ensuring your latches and levers are
properly tightened helps ensure they
do not become loose over time. If a
latch or lever is loose, follow these
steps to tighten them.
To adjust the stem and frame latches
First loosen screw 1 using a 3mm hex
key. Next adjust the tightness of the
latch by turning screw 2 a 1/8th turn
at a time using a flat head screwdriver.
If it is too tight, rotate the screw anti-
clockwise by a 1/8th turn to reduce
the tightness.
Important - When you are happy the
clamping force is strong enough to
ensure the latch remains tight when
closed, tighten down screw 1 to lock in
your changes.
To tighten the steerer lever
First move the lever from the closed
to open (loose) position. Next tighten
the steerer lever by rotating the screw
1 clockwise by 1/8th turns with your
hand, to increase the tightness. If it is
too tight, rotate screw 1 anti-clockwise
by a 1/8th turn to reduce the tightness
until at the right setting.
Important – When you are happy with
the tightness, close the lever and
check that the steerer cannot move up
or down before riding.
