Question/Problem - Cause
Cause
The submersible water pump does not turn on:
• The power cord is not plugged in or there is an
electrical breakdown;
• The water level is lower than the suction level. The
float switch is not activated;
The pump turns off suddenly:
• The thermal overload relay has switched off the pump
due to overheating;
The device starts but does not pump any water:
• The water outlet hose is bent or clogged;
• Air blocks the water inlet;
• The suction base is clogged with debris;
• The water level is lower than the suction level;
The submersible water pump does not turn off:
• The float switch is stuck and does not follow the
descent of the water level;
The amount of water transported is not enough:
• The suction base is clogged with debris;
• The pump power is reduced due to very dirty water
mixed with abrasive substances;
The pump switches off automatically after running for a
short time:
• The thermal overload relay (motor protector)
switches it off due to excessive dirt in the water;
• The temperature of the water is too high, so the
overload relay turns it off;
Solution
• Check the plug, socket and circuit breaker of the supply
circuit;
• The water level must be higher than the suction level;
• While letting the pump cool down, unplug the power
cord and clean the impeller;
Do not let the water temperature exceed 35°C;
• Attach the hose correctly and clean it;
• When submerging the pump into the water, you should
tilt it slightly to ensure that the water enters the
impeller chamber. If necessary, tilt the pump back and
forth several times until there are no air bubbles.
• Remove the debris;
• Lower the water pump;
• Release the float switch so that it is free to track the
water level;
• Remove the debris;
• Clean the pump and worn out parts;
• Unplug and clean the pump and the well;
• Do not let water temperature exceed 35°C;
