12) Stack the split logs while you work. This will provide a safer workplace by keeping it clutter-free and limit
the risk of tripping over or damaging the power cord.
The accumulated split wood and wood cuttings can create a hazardous working environment. Never
continue working in an unclean workplace that may cause you to slip, trip or fall.
3.5.
Cleaning and maintenance
a)
Pull the mains plug and let the unit cool down completely before cleaning, adjusting or replacing
accessories and when the unit is not in use.
b)
Use only non-corrosive cleaning agents for cleaning the surfaces.
c)
After each cleaning, all parts should be thoroughly dried before the device is reused.
d)
Store the unit in a dry and cool place protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
e)
Do not spray the unit with a stream of water or immerse it in water.
f)
Make sure that no water enters through the ventilation openings in the casing.
g)
Clean the ventilation openings with a brush and compressed air.
h)
Perform regular inspections of the unit checking technical fitness and any damages.
i)
Do not use sharp and/or metal objects (e.g. wire brush or metal spatula) as they may damage the surface
of the material from which the appliance is made.
j)
Do not clean the unit with acidic substances, medical agents, thinners, fuel, oils, or other chemicals. It
may cause damage to the device.
k)
After an extended period of work and if necessary, sharpen the splitting wedge with a fine-toothed file,
removing burrs and flat parts of the edge.
3.5.1.
The hydraulic system is a closed system with an oil reservoir, an oil pump and a control valve. Regularly check
the oil level with the dipstick. Low oil levels can damage the oil pump. The oil level should be approximately 1-2
cm below the top of the oil tank. The oil should be completely changed once a year.

Make sure that the moving parts have stopped and the machine is disconnected from the power supply.
•
Make sure that no dirt enters the oil tank.
Used oil must be collected and properly recycled.
•
After changing the oil, start the machine several times without splitting the wood.
•
The following hydraulic oils or their equivalents are recommended for the hydraulic transmission of the machine:
