Please comply with the following
- Carefully read through the Installation Instructions before starting work
- Before installing the park heating, check on the equipment of the vehicle
- Take particular care to understand the various possibilities of equipping the vehicle, as the costs for retrofitting
result from it (see matrix below)!
- The retrofitting of the Original BMW radio remote control is always possible irrespective of the vehicle's
equipment! (see EPC for part number)
Important notes on commissioning and taking into operation
When retrofitted in the Federal Republic of Germany, acceptance by the TÜV (Technical Inspecting Agency), in
accordance with § 19 (2) StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) is required as well as an entry in the
vehicle's papers (extra cost)! For this purpose, the installation instructions are to be handed to the customer. If the
vehicle is used, or will be used, outside the Federal Republic of Germany, then the relevant country's regulations
must be complied with!
General notes on operation
The park heating uses approx. 0.2 l of fuel per half hour of running time. By reason of the uniform combustion, the
exhaust gas emitted lies far below the legal exhaust gas values.
The vehicle's battery is drawn upon for the operation of the park heating. To avoid starting problems, and to
stabilise the vehicle's electrical system, we recommend that the vehicle is sufficiently used during the season of
use of the park heating , so that the battery is always properly charged. (Recommendation: 30 min park heating
operation = 30 min driving use).
Outside the heating season of the year, the heater should be taken into use with cold engine for 10 minutes every
4 weeks in order to avoid starting problems at the start of the next heating season (see also BMW Operating
Instructions).
