2.0 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• To avoid danger, if the appliance is damaged contact our Customer Service team or send the
appliance to one of our authorised service centres for replacement, and do not attempt to
replace it without our authorisation.
• This appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are
supervised by a person responsible for their safety or who has received instructions from them
on how to use the appliance.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• This appliance must be commissioned by a competent individual.
• Only use the appliance when the protective grating is in place. The protective grating is used
to prevent the risk of fire or injury due to burns and must not be removed. It does not provide
complete protection for people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities.
• The gas hose must not be kinked or twisted.
• Do not move the appliance when it is in operation. Note that the appliance remains hot for a
few minutes after use.
• Do not use the appliance if gas is leaking (see the notes concerning the leak test).
• Do not use the appliance in recreational vehicles such as caravans and motor homes.
• There is a fire hazard if the appliance is placed near walls, furniture, curtains, drapes, bedding
and other flammable materials. The minimum distance between flammable materials and the
rear and sides of the furnace is 100 cm.
• Keep the appliance away from flammable materials (e.g. clothing, curtains, upholstered
furniture, etc.).
• This appliance must not be used in basements, bathrooms or bedrooms.
• Always change the gas cylinder outdoors and away from sources of ignition.
• In the event of a flashback (when the flame burns back to the nozzle), immediately turn off the
gas supply at the cylinder valve. Ensure that the flame has gone out and reignite the appliance
as described below. If the appliance burns back again, close the valve and contact the
Customer Service team.
• If there is an obvious gas leak at the appliance (e.g. due to the smell of gas), turn off the gas
supply at the cylinder valve. Take the entire assembly outside to a flame-free environment and
check the suspected leak as described below.
• Do not check for gas leaks with a naked flame!
• Never dry laundry on the radiant heater or cover it.
• Never use or store solvents and pressurised gas cylinders near a gas heater – even when the
appliance is switched off.
• Never stick objects into the radiant heater; this can impair combustion and produce hazardous
pollutants.
• Ensure that the rooms where the radiant heater is located are well ventilated.
• Keep the areas around the heater free from paper, rubbish and other flammable objects.
• Place the radiant heater on a flat, hard, non-flammable surface; do not place it on carpets or
bases, near bedding or curtains or on tables and work surfaces.
• Switch off the radiant heater at the gas cylinder valve when you leave the room; never leave
the radiant heater on when you are sleeping or leave the house.
• Always switch off the appliance at the gas cylinder valve after use.
