BEFORE FIRST USE
In order to be able to drive on public roads, certain legal provisions must be
observed. These regulations vary from country to country.
Please ask your MEGAMO dealer about the legal regulations in your country or in
the country where you intend to use your bicycle.
1. Are you familiar with the braking system?
Please refer to your MEGAMO delivery report and check whether you can operate
the front brake with the same brake lever you normally use (right or left). If this is
not the case, have the assignment of the brake levers adapted before the first use
in your facility.
Modern brakes have a much better braking effect than older brakes. Do some
braking tests first outside normal traffic, on a flat, non-slippery surface. Slowly work
your way up to higher braking capacities and speeds.
2. Are you familiar with the exchange rate and how it works?
Ask your MEGAMO dealer to explain how to use the gearbox and, if necessary,
choose a place without traffic to familiarise yourself with your new gearbox.
3. Are the saddle and handlebars correctly adjusted?
The saddle shall be adjusted so that your heel barely reaches the pedal when the
pedal is at its lowest position, without having to tilt your hips.
Check if you still manage to touch the ground with the tip of your toes when you are
sitting on the saddle.
4. If your MEGAMO bike has clipless pedals: Have you ever ridden with the
right shoes?
Start practising carefully how to engage and disengage the shoes with the bike
stationary.
5. If you have purchased a MEGAMO bicycle with suspension elements, it is
advisable to have them adjusted by your MEGAMO dealer. Incorrect adjustment of
the suspension elements can lead to malfunctions or damage to the suspension
elements. In any case, the riding behaviour of the bike will be affected and you will
not enjoy maximum safety on the road and will not be able to enjoy your bike to the
fullest.
