QUICK FASTENERS, THRU AXLES AND TIGHTENING TORQUE
TIGHTENING PAIR
It is essential that for your safety and to avoid possible damage, before you ride
your E-BIKE MEGAMO bike for the first 50 km, you should have the tightening
torque of all the bolts that fasten the motor to the frame checked by an expert
mechanic or in your local garage.
QUICK-RELEASE FASTENERS
Most MEGAMO bicycles are equipped with quick-release fasteners for quick
adjustment, mounting and dismounting of components.
Every time you use your MEGAMO bike, you should first check that all quick-
release fasteners are tightened securely.
Handle quick-release fasteners with the utmost care, as your safety depends
directly on them.
Practice the correct handling of quick-release fasteners in order to avoid accidents.
The quick-release essentially consists of two control elements:
1. The lever on the side of the hub.
2. The tightening nut on the opposite side of the hub, which adjusts the pre-load on
a threaded rod (the quick-release axle).
THRU AXLES ON MEGAMO BICYCLES
The thru axles give the fork and rear end high rigidity. This allows the MEGAMO
bike to retain its riding stability even under high loads.
Today, the market offers a wide variety of thru axle systems, some of which
are quick-release fasteners. Others may require special tools for assembly and
disassembly.
For all systems, make sure that the thru axles, fork dropouts and hub are clean
before assembly. Clean the components with an absorbent cloth and, if necessary,
with water and some detergent.
