2. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

2.1 LOCATION OF THE GATEWAY IN THE INSTALLATION
• The Gateway should be installed in an area that facilitates wireless BT connection with
the devices to be monitored. The recommended strength indicators (RSSI) for the BT
signal are between -35 and -80 dBm. See section 3.6 SCANNING DEVICES, to find the
BT signal strength indicator for a given Gateway location.
• Depending on the number of devices to be monitored, or the available BT signal
strength indicators (RSSI), one or more Gateways can be used in the installation. In
general, no more than 30 BT devices should be connected to one single Gateway.
• The Gateways should be installed in easily accessible areas for maintenance and setup
purposes.

2.2 POWER SUPPLY
• The installation must have a mains power line to supply the Gateway/s. These are
supplied with an AC/DC adaptor (100-240Vac; 50/60Hz) with plug, and therefore the
installation should have a socket near the Gateway. The supplied AC/DC adaptor has
a 1.45-meter cable.
• As an option, if there is no power line near the Gateway, and it will be connected to the
Internet through Ethernet, it is then possible to power it via Ethernet through its PoE
(Power over Ethernet) port. In this case, the Ethernet network must be equipped with
PoE function.

2.3 INTERNET CONNECTION
• The Gateway can be connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet network (ref.
A5A5279C00). Additionally, it can be connected to the Internet via LTE network (ref.
A5A5379C00).
• If the connection is via Wi-Fi network, you must ensure a good wireless signal reception
where the Gateway(s) is (are) located. If the connection is not the recommended one
(RSSI between -35 and -80 dBm), the use of Wi-Fi repeaters is recommended.
• Wi-Fi access must be via secure connections only. Connection to public Wi-Fi networks
is not allowed.
• If connecting via Ethernet network, it will be necessary to wire the installation from the
access point (router) to the Gateway(s).
• To connect to the Internet via LTE (ref. A5A5379C00 only), you need to hire the service
with a mobile operator and have a specific Nano-SIM card. As indicated above, it is
necessary to ensure good coverage where the Gateway(s) is(are) located.
