Connection to the Air Supply
(see figure C)
Pay attention that the air pressure is not be-
low 6.3 bar (91 psi), as the pneumatic tool
is designed for this operating pressure.
For maximum performance, the inner hose di-
ameter sizes as well as the connection threads
must correspond with the values listed in the ta-
ble "Technical Data". To maintain full perfor-
mance, use only hoses with a maximum length
of 4 meters.
The supplied air must be free of foreign material
and moisture to protect the pneumatic tool from
damage, contamination, and rust.
Note: The use of a compressed air maintenance
unit is necessary. This ensures optimum func-
tioning of compressed air tools.
Observe the operating instructions of the main-
tenance unit.
All fittings, connecting lines, and hoses must be
dimensioned for the required air pressure and
volume.
Avoid restrictions in the air supply resulting
from, e.g., pinching, kinking, or stretching!
In case of doubt, measure the pressure with a
pressure gauge at the air inlet with the pneumat-
ic tool switched on.
Connection of the Air Supply to the Pneumatic
Tool
Screw the hose nipple 3 into the connector at
the air inlet 2.
To prevent damage to the internal valve compo-
nents of the tool, you should use an open-end
spanner (size 22 mm) to apply a counterforce at
the protruding connector of the air inlet 2 when
screwing/unscrewing the hose nipple 3.
Loosen the hose clamps 11 of the air inlet hose
15 and attach the air inlet hose over the hose
nipple 3 by firmly tightening the hose clamp.
Note: Always connect the air inlet hose first to
the pneumatic tool, then to the maintenance
unit.
Bosch Power Tools
Slip the air inlet hose 15 over the coupling nip-
ple 16 and attach the air inlet hose by firmly
tightening the hose clamp 11.
Screw a quick hose connector 17 in the air out-
let of the maintenance unit 18. Quick hose con-
nectors make possible a quick connection and,
when uncoupled, thea shut off the air supply au-
tomatically.
Take care that you do not start the pneumatic
tool accidentally when you insert the coupling
nipple 16 into the coupler 17.
Changing the Tool (see figure D)
Disconnect the air hose from the air source
before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing the pneumatic tool.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the
risk of starting the pneumatic tool acciden-
tally.
Only use accessories with fitting shank di-
ameter. An accessory with a shank diameter
that does not correspond with the tool hold-
er of the tool (see "Technical Data"), cannot
be held properly and damages the collet.
When inserting an accessory, pay attention
that the shank of the accessory is firmly
seated in the tool holder. When the shank of
the accessory is not inserted deep enough in
the tool holder, the accessory can slip out
again and no longer be controlled.
Do not use cut-off grinding discs and rout-
ing bits. The pneumatic tool does not have
safety devices for these accessories.
The rated speed of the accessory must be at
least equal to the maximum speed marked
on the pneumatic tool. Accessories running
faster than their rated speed can burst and
fly apart.
Use only flawless tool bits that are not
worn. Defective tool bits can break, for ex-
ample, and cause injury or damage.
