Notes
• Circuits connected to the product must be SELV and PELV circuits.
• Observe the correct supply voltage (material protection).
• Operation only with protected low voltage (material protection).
• Protection class III electric insulation (material protection).
• If the product is exposed to strong electromagnetical fields: Use shielded ca-
bles.
• Ensure that data lines are routed properly:
– Ensure that shielded data lines with twisted pair wires are used.
– Ensure that a proper and complete shielding concept is implemented.
– Avoid interference, e.g. from switched-mode power supplies, motors,
timed regulators and contactors: Ensure that cables are laid and wired in
an EMC-compliant manner.
– Ensure that cables are not laid in parallel with power supply cables and mo-
tor cables in cable conduits over a longer distance.
• Comply with degree of protection IP65 and IP67. The IP65 and/or IP67 degree
of protection is maintained for the product only under the following condi-
tions:
– The attached cable on the M12 port is properly installed and secured.
– The round plug connector is fastened.
• Failure to comply will result in the product not conforming to any specified IP
degree of protection.
Procedure
Depending on the variant, the product has 1 of the following connections for
power supply and outputs at the top:
• IO-Link variant:
5-pin M12x1 port. See
g 6.4.1 Connection with 5-pin M12
• Ethernet variant:
8-pin M12x1 port. See
g 6.4.2 Connection with 8-pin M12
6.4.1 Connection with 5-pin M12 plug
1. Screw the M12x1 plug of the CON-RD connecting cable to the port. See
g Fig. 1. If the port is not used, maintain IP65 degree of protection for the
housing: Cover the port with a cap.
2. Observe the pin assignment. See g Table 4.
3. Connect the cable in accordance with its function.
4. Apply the supply voltage.
ð After the standby delay has elapsed (approx. 1 s), the product is in run mode
(normal operating mode).
ð The display indicates the current measuring value.

7 Commissioning
7.1 Basic requirements
Product-specific requirements
• Circuits connected to the product must be SELV and PELV circuits.
• Only operate the product via a supply with safe isolation from the mains: PELV
according to DIN VDE 0100-410, IEC 60364-4-41, HD 60364.4.41,
EN 60079-14. The power circuit must be potential-free (not grounded).
7.2 Preparation
General requirements
• Make sure the product is fully assembled and connected.
• Make sure all presettings have been made and the product has been config-
ured correctly.
7.3 Step-by-step commissioning
Procedure
Apply operating voltage.
u
INFO: The product has no main switch. The product is switched on and opera-
tional as soon as the product is connected to mains voltage. To switch off: Dis-
connect the product from the power supply.
Pressurize the system part to which the product is connected.
u
ð The sensor runs a self-test and is operational afterwards. The measuring value
menu is displayed.
Limited precision on IO-Link variant
Using the Q1 and Q2 digital outputs simultaneously with the Qa and
Q2 analog outputs may lead to limitations in the precision of the ana-
log outputs.
