Trimming Instructions (Figures 5-9)
Keep hands away from blade and powersaw.
To guard against injury, observe the following:
•
Read instruction manual before using. Save
instruction manual.
•
Check the hedge for foreign objects such as wires or
fences before each use.
•
Keep hands on handles. Don't overreach.
•
DO NOT use under wet conditions.
Blade may coast after turn off.
1.
Working Position
(Figure 5) -
Maintain proper
footing and balance
and DO NOT
overreach. Wear
safety goggles and
non-skid footwear
when trimming.
Hold the unit firmly
in both hands and
turn the unit on. Refer to Proper Hand Position for
further information.
2.
Trimming New
Growth (Figure
6) - Using a wide,
sweeping motion
and feeding the
blade teeth through
the twigs, is most
effective. A slight
downward tilt of
the blade in the
direction of motion
gives best cutting.
3.
Level Hedges
(Figure 7) - To
obtain exceptionally
level hedges a piece
of string can be
stretched along the
length of the hedge
as a guide.

Side Trimming
Hedges (Figure 8)
- Orient the trimmer
as shown and begin
at the bottom and
sweep up.
5.
Powersaw (Figure
9) - For branches
too large for the
blade (6) to cut,
use the powersaw
(10). Position the
powersaw as close
to the bottom of the
branch as possible.
Place the powersaw
shoe against the
branch. Turn the
hedge trimmer on
as described above,
allowing the tool
to work at its own
pace until the branch is fully cut.
NOTE:
The powersaw's cut capacity is up to 1.5" (38 mm) thick.
