Important:
Please feed Elli Smiles only with clean water!!!
When feeding the doll, insert the bottle properly into the mouth opening. Please notice that the doll is not
able to suck water. The water needs to be fed by pressing the bottle. A repeated pressing and releasing of
the pressure on the bottle supports the drinking. It helps to fill the tank inside the doll gradually.
Preparation
Insertion of batteries should be done by an adult as follows:
1. Set the switch on the battery compartment to "OFF". (Fig. 1)
2. Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment. (Fig. 1)
3. Insert the 3x 1.5V AA (LR6) batteries. Please check if the polarity is correct. (Fig. 2)
4. Screw the cover of the battery compartment back on again. (Fig. 1)
5. Set the switch on the battery compartment to "ON". (Fig. 3)
Functions
To use Elli Smiles' functions, slide the switch on the battery compartment inside the doll to ON. Once Elli Smiles is
switched on, she will start to make baby sounds. Elli Smiles behaves like a real baby – with realistic sounds and a
cute smile.
To activate the function of the necklace, press the button on the necklace or place the necklace around the doll
mummy's neck. A flashing light shows that the necklace is now active. The necklace will connect to the doll if
switched on. Once it is connected, Elli Smiles will smile, say "mummy" and giggle. The connection remains up to a
distance of 1/2 metre. If the necklace is switched on but not placed with, it will switch to standby mode after one
minute. After another five minutes, it will switch off automatically. To reactivate the necklace, the button on the
necklace must be pressed again or the necklace worn again.
Elli Smiles can:
•
drink real water from her bottle. When she does so, she moves her mouth and makes drinking sounds. After
drinking, Elli Smiles needs a little burp. Sometimes her tummy hurts so much that she starts to cry. See Point
3. Crying. (Pic. 1&2)
Important:
Please only feed Elli Smiles with clean water!!!
When feeding her, always push the bottle far enough into her mouth.
Please note that the doll is unable to suck up the water herself; the bottle has to be squeezed.
Alternately squeezing and releasing the bottle helps her to drink. This guarantees that the water tank
inside the doll is filled evenly.
•
let out a little burp after she is fed. To help her let out a little burp, tap her back a few times between the
shoulder blades. If you do not tap her back enough or at all, she will not be able to burp and will switch to
standby mode after a while. (Pic. 3)

sleep. There are various ways to soothe Elli Smiles to sleep. You can rock her in your arms by holding her
completely horizontal and rocking her in any direction. She will sigh and yawn before starting to make

fall asleep. (Pic. 5a)
