TOOL USE AND CARE

Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
tool for the application. The correct tool will
do the job better and more safely at the rate
that it was designed to work at.
Do not use tools if switch does not turn it on or

the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source
before making any adjustments, changing ac-

dividuals who are not familiar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate it. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands on untrained
users.

ment or binding of moving parts, broken parts,
and any other condition that may affect the
operation of the power tool. If it is damaged,
have it repaired before using. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

fied repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualified personnel could re-
sult in a risk of injury.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR
RECIPROCATING SAWS
• Avoid damage that can be caused by screws,
nails and other elements in your workpiece.
Remove them before you start working.
• In case of electrical or mechanical malfunc-
tion, turn the tool off immediately.
• Use only accessories with a rated speed that
is at least as high as the highest no-load speed
of the tool.
• Do not work with materials that contain as-
bestos. Asbestos is considered to be carcino-
genic.
• Keep hands away from the cutting area and
the blade. Keep one hand on the barrel grip. If
both hands are holding the saw, they cannot
encounter the blade.
• Do not reach underneath the workpiece
while cutting. The proximity of the blade to
your hand is hidden from your sight.
• Use clamps or other equipment to secure and
support the workpiece. Holding the workpiece
in your hand or against your body may lead to
loss of control. It is important to support the
work properly in order to minimize body expo-
sure, blade binding, or loss of control.
• Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces
when performing any operation where the cut-
ting tool may come into contact with live wires.
• Use suitable detectors to find hidden utility
lines, or call the local utility company for as-
sistance. Contact with electric lines can lead to
fire or electrical shock. Damage to a gas line
can result in an explosion. Penetrating a water
pipe will cause property damage or an electric
shock.
• Do not use a dull or damaged blade. Bent
blades can break easily or cause kickback.
• Ensure that the blade clamp is tight before
making a cut. A loose clamp may cause the tool
or blade to slip, resulting in loss of control.
• Do not hold the blade toward your face
when removing the blade. The blade will au-
tomatically fall off when the clamp is released.
