THE MACHINE DOES NOT REMAIN IN NEUTRAL
Adjust the fork (fig. 16, A). Should this adjustment not be sufficient, remove the green casing, loosen the nut
(fig. 16A, B), turn the cam screw (fig. 16A, ref. C) until the machine stops. This adjustment must be carried out
when the engine is cold.
ELECTRIC SYSTEM
The electrical system is protected by fuses which cut out the entire system if tripped. The fuses are located
inside the frame close to the seat (fig. 17). After identifying and repairing the fault, replace the blown fuse
with another of the same rating. Never replace a fuse with one of different rating. If the problems persist
after the above procedures have been carried out, contact the nearest authorized service centre. Never
attempt to carry out complex repairs if you do not have the necessary equipment and technical skills.
HOW TO QUIT WORK
When you finish mowing, take your foot off the pedal in order to stop (fig. 1 n. 1), set the throttle lever at the
min. speed and turn off the engine by turning the key (fig. 1B, no. 5) to STOP position. Engage the parking
brake and always turn off the petrol tap (fig. 6 pos. A).
CLEANING
Internal cutting deck washing: this operation must be done on a solid floor. You have to connect a water pipe
in the proper joint (fig.32) and let the water flow in for a few minutes:
-
the driver must be seated at the driver's seat.
-
the engine must be running;
-
the gearbox must be in neutral gear;
-
the blade must be engaged.
The cutting deck must be set in the lowest position when washing it. Never use a high-pressure water cleaner
to wash out the engine compartment. On the contrary use compressed air or a vacuum cleaner.
PROLONGED IDLE PERIODS
The machine should be stored in a dry place protected from the weather. Cover it with a sheet of canvas if
possible. If it is to be out of use for more than 1 month, disconnect the negative battery lead and follow the
instructions in the engine service manual. Also lubricate all the joints. Check the battery voltage periodically,
ensuring that it does not drop below 12 Volts. If this occurs, charge the battery.
use for more than 30 days (models with petrol engine), drain the fuel from the engine to prevent sticky deposits
from forming in the fuel intake system or in vital parts of carburettor. To avoid this procedure, it is possible to
save fuel in storage up to 12 months by using an appropriate fuel stabilizer. Add this additive to the fuel in the
tank or in the fuel container. Run the engine for a while to let the stabilizer get into the fuel system. Important:
if the engine is fed with petrol containing alcohol, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until there is no fuel
left.
TRANSPORTING THE MACHINE
If the machine has to be transported on a lorry or a trailer, engage the parking brake and fasten it to the
vehicle using ropes or cables.
SIDE DISCHARGE KIT
When the operator does not want to collect grass it is possible to mount a baffle for side discharge on the
mower deck (fig. 25, ref. A). Remove the lock of the mower deck door, mount the baffle and block it tightly.
MULCHING KIT
It is used to cut and mince 10-12 cm high grass. It is recommended to mulch when the grass is dry to ensure a
better shredding. Do not immediately disengage the blades once you have finished, but let them rotate a while
on the cut lawn to allow the minced grass to be completely discharged from the mower deck. The kit contains
a closing plate and a mulching blade to replace the one mounted on the mower deck when collecting (fig. 26).
