Problem

Engine will not start.

Engine still will not start.

Unit will not move.

Forward speed too slow.

Reverse speed too slow.

Loss of Hydraulic Oil.

Machine operates

erratically.

The Altrad Belle 'RPC' range of Reversible Plate Compactors are designed to give many years of trouble free operation. It is, however,

important that the simple regular maintenance listed in this section is carried out. It is recommended that an approved Altrad Belle

Before any maintenance is carried out on the machine, switch off the engine. If working on a diesel engine, make sure that the stop

switch is in the stop position.

Running In Period

Drive Belt

setscrew on the Belt Tensioning device and slide to the right. Once set, retighten the setscrew and check belt tension a secong time.

Trouble Shooting Guide

Cause

No fuel.

Engine switched off.

Spark plug fouled.

Engine cold.

Engine speed too slow.

Drive belt tension loose.

Worn or Damaged Clutch.

Drive failure.

Gearbox failure.

Too much oil in hydraulic head.

Not enough oil in hydraulic head.

Air in control system.

Connectors leaking.

Defective hydraulic hose.

Piston seal in gearbox defective.

Shock mounts damaged.

Service & Maintenance

Remedy

Open fuel tap.

Fill fuel tank.

Switch engine on.

Clean and reset plug gap.

Close choke.

Honda, open choke, fully open throttle, pull recoil starter

Hatz, move speed control to stop, pull recoil starter 5 times

then repeat start procedure.
