2.3 Installation and Configuration
The FWA-ASM2012 comes as a pre-configured system with CPUs, memory, and peripherals
installed in the unit.
2.3.1 Rack Mounting
The FWA-ASM2012 server is designed to be a rack server. Please follow the basic guidelines below
for rack mounting:
Install the mounting ears on each side of the unit using the screws included.
1.
Locate the threaded mount holes on the chassis on the side, close to the front panel.
2.
Place the mounting ear over the holes and insert the two screws. Do not tighten the screws
immediately.
After inserting all screws hand tighten them using a PH2 screwdriver to ensure secure installation.
Ensure the rack is adequate for the unit (weight) and the application.
Use the mounting hardware recommended by the rack manufacturer to mount the unit in the rack.
For mounting screws, compatible with the rack design, must be used and hand tightened to ensure
secure installation.
Choose a mounting location that does not block any air inlet and air outlet areas of the unit, it is also
recommended to factor in heat generated by adjacent equipment and to avoid exposure to direct
sunlight when mounting the unit. If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating
ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient. Therefore,
consideration should be given to installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the
maximum recommended ambient temperature.
Route cables away from power lines, fluorescent lighting fixtures, and sources of noise. Make sure
that cables do not block air inlet and outlet areas. Reliable grounding of rack-mounted equipment
must be maintained.
