1. General
1.1 System Overview
The FWA-ASM2012 is designed for applications requiring low to mid-end compute power in compact
form factor. It supports gigabit speed networking with bypass capability on the four onboard network
ports. Additional network and compute capability can be accommodated on a PCI-E Gen3, x8, and
x4 slots on the rear panel of the chassis. The server can significantly scale up the compute power
and network bandwidth and provide better cost advantages for applications requiring standalone
appliances. Redundant power supplies, the ability to withstand single fan failures, redundant
firmware images with failsafe upgrades, and hot-swappable FRUs make the FWA-ASM2012 the
platform of choice for applications requiring zero downtime. Interoperability testing is performed with
a wide selection of companies and third-party PCI-E card vendors, to accelerate integration and
shorten time to deployment.
