NOTE: This machine has an oil sensor to avoid
the engine being started with the oil level below
a recommended minimum. If the level of oil is
insufficient, the engine will not start (depending on
model).
6.4. START-UP
6.4.1. CHECKPOINTS BEFORE COMMISSIONING
Do not use machine is if it is damaged or incorrectly
regulated.
Use this machine for the purpose for which it was
designed. Any other use may be dangerous for the
user, for the machine and for persons, animals and
things that may be around.
Check:
- The machine completely and look for loose and
damaged parts (screws, nuts, etc.).
- That the moving parts of the machine are not in
contact with any object.
- That the guard is properly attached to the machine.
- That the cutting tool is disengaged (see 6.4.1.1.)
- That there are no fuel leaks.
- The crankcase oil and transmission level.
- The air filter is clean.
Tighten, repair or replace everything you need
before using the machine.
Do not use any accessory on this machine outside of
those recommended by Garland since its use could
result in serious injury to the user, machine, and the
people, animals and things close to the machine.
6.4.1.1. CLUTCH CHECKPOINT
The cutting tool should be off by default to prevent
the machine from moving at the time of starting the
machine. To verify that the clutch is disengage, place
the switch to "OFF" position and pull slowly and
forcefully from the Starter handle the engine turn.
Note If, while the motor spins, also turn the cutting
tool. If the cutting tool rotates, it means that the clutch
is engaged and is therefore poorly regulated. If the
clutch is not correctly regulated take your machine for
service.
6.4.2. STARTING THE ENGINE
Start the engine carefully, in accordance with the
instructions, and feet away from the milling cutters.
6.4.2.1. COLD-STARTING THE ENGINE
Place the machine on a flat surface and stable to start
it.
1. Place the ON/OFF switch in the "ON" position.
2. Place the handle switch in the position "I".
3. Place the fuel tap in the open position.
4. Place the air lever in the Closed position
