CLIPPER BLADE ADJUSTMENT
Your Andis adjustable clipper blade set is easy to adjust. From coarse to fine cuts, all that is needed is a
flick of the adjustment lever with your thumb. In the upright position, the blades are set for the finest, or
shortest cuts (Figure K).
USER MAINTENANCE
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
If clipper is not going to be used for a long period of time, store in a safe, cool, dry place. Do not wrap
adapter cord tightly around clipper. Do not hang the clipper by the adapter cord.
The internal mechanism of your clipper has been permanently lubricated at the factory. Other than the
recommended maintenance described in this manual, no other maintenance should be performed,
except by Andis Company or an Andis authorized service station.
CARE AND SERVICING OF YOUR ANDIS CLIPPER BLADES
The blades should be oiled before, during, and after each use. If your clipper blades leave streaks or
slow down, it's a sure sign that the blades need oil. The clipper should be held in the position shown in
Figure L to prevent oil from getting into the motor. Place a few drops of Andis Clipper Oil on the front and
side of the cutter blades (Figure M). Wipe excess oil off the blades with a soft dry cloth. Spray lubricants
contain insufficient oil for good lubrication, but are an excellent clipper coolant. Always replace broken or
nicked blades to prevent injury. You can clean the excess hair from your blades by using a small brush or
an old toothbrush. To clean the blades we suggest immersing the blades only into a shallow pan of Andis
Blade Care Plus, while the clipper is running. Any excess hair and dirt that has accumulated between the
blades should come out. After cleaning, turn your clipper off, dry the blades with a dry cloth and start
clipping or trimming again.
BLADE REMOVAL
1. Turn the clipper off.
2. Turn clipper over and place on hard, flat surface so teeth of clipper face down. Unscrew blade screws.
Remove lower blade (Figure N).
3. Remove the upper blade by pulling blade toward you and away from the body of the clipper. The blade
yoke will detach from the clipper, staying connected to the upper blade (Figure N).
4. Place lower blade on top of upper blade, always keeping tension on the upper blade.
5. With the lever arm in the shortest position (upright) set the blade gap of the upper blade to your
preference, taking care that it does not overhang the lower blade, as this can cause damage to skin
(the blades are gapped at 1/32" from the factory) (Figure O).
6. Reattach the two blade screws, once again confirming that the upper blade does not travel over the
lower blade while the lever arm is in the shortest position (upright) (Figures N & O).
BLADE YOKE REPLACEMENT
1. Turn the clipper off.
2. Turn clipper over and place on hard, flat surface so teeth of clipper face down. Unscrew blade screws.
Remove lower blade (Figure N).
3. Remove the upper blade/yoke by pulling blade toward you and away from the body of the clipper.
4. Place the upper blade on a flat surface with the yoke facing upwards (Figure P).
5. Place a small flat head screwdriver or other small device into the slot on either side of the yoke just
above the lower blade (Figure Q).
6. Gently twist the screwdriver clockwise and then push upward to release the yoke from the upper blade.
7. Completely remove the yoke from the upper blade and clean the surface of the upper blade to remove
any debris.
8. Place the new yoke into the mating holes and press firmly (Figure R). Place the tip of the screwdriver in
the spring slot. Press alternately from one side to the other until the yoke fully seats in the blade
(Figure S).
9. An alternate method for pressing the yoke into the blade is by carefully using a pair of pliers to
squeeze the yoke into position. Be careful not to damage the yoke by over-pressing (Figure T).
10. To re-assemble the blade set, align the springs on the clipper into the spring slots on the new blade
yoke and press firmly into the clipper. Place the lower blade on top of upper blade, always keeping
tension on the upper blade.
