EN: Installation Sheet
Description
DB702 and DB702U Mounting Bases are used with the Dx700
series of conventional fire detectors.

The bases feature a continuity link between LINE IN (1) and
LINE OUT (2) terminals of the conventional detector circuit.
The base is supplied with the link in closed position. This lets
you connect the zone circuit using only the bases, without
generating a fault message display at the panel.
Caution:
For general guidelines on system planning, design,
installation, commisioning, use, and maintenance, refer to
standard CEN/TS 54-14 and to local regulations.
Installing a detector in the base opens the continuity link.
Removing a detector does not automatically close the link. This
means that the panel generates a fault message when a
detector is removed.
To reset the continuity link, insert a screwdriver under the link
(Figure 3), and press up until it clips back into place (Figure 4).
Some detectors in the Dx700 series are available with a built-in
relay capability that allows the detector in alarm mode to
activate external equipment. The relay contacts (NC, C, and
NO) are shown in Figure 1.
Table 1 gives the terminal descriptions for both models.

Wiring
Figures 1 and 2 show the following:
All heads are polarity insensitive. Standard wiring layout for the
detector line is shown in Figure 1 (from left to right):

Wiring for connecting multiple detectors to a single remote
indicator is shown in Figure 2.

Maintenance
Basic maintenance of the base consists of a yearly inspection
only. Do not modify the wiring.
