In the United States, Fixed Directional mode and
UltraZoom are approved for use in pediatric recipients
6 years and above who are 1) able to complete objective
speech perception testing in order to determine speech
performance and 2) able to report a preference for
different coding strategies or features.

The Naída CI M30 sound processor has a datalogging
feature that collects information about the listening
environments encountered by the user, including
information regarding presence or absence of speech
or music and noise types and levels. This feature
