This pinless meter has a predetermined scanning depth of 3/4" (19 mm).
If the material being tested is thicker than 3/4" (19 mm), the meter will
not be able to obtain a reading from the deepest layer. Conversely, if the
material is thinner than 3/4" (19 mm), the readings obtained may pertain
to something behind the material being tested, rather than the material
itself. To compensate for this, one approach is to stack multiple thin
samples to achieve a 3/4" (19 mm) depth, as shown.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the Low Battery indicator is displayed on the LCD,
the batteries must be replaced to avoid inaccurate measurements.
1. Loosen screw to remove battery door
2. Remove and recycle exhausted 9V battery.

To avoid risk of electric shock, do not operate meter while
battery door is removed.
