9. Operating the air fryer
WARNING!
Risk of fire!
Oil and other liquids can catch fire as a result of the high
temperatures.
Do not fill the frying basket (1 1) with fat or oil as you
would with a conventional fryer. Add only the appropri-
ate amount of cooking oil to the food, depending on the
recipe (see also "9.2. Recommended settings" on page
66).
Extremely fatty foods are not suitable for preparation in
the air fryer. The fat would drip onto the bottom of the
frying basket and burn.
Always use the frying basket (1 1) together with the frying
insert (9).
Do not overfill the frying basket (1 1). Observe the MAX
marking (8).
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Moisture in the food causes hot steam to escape during
cooking. Risk of burns from steam escaping when you re-
move the frying basket (1 1) during or after food prepara-
tion.
Do not position your head directly above the appliance
and do not touch the steam.
Pull the frying basket (1 1) out of the appliance.
If not already done so, insert the frying insert (9) into the frying basket (1 1). Press it
down completely.
Prepare the food: Add the appropriate amount of oil for the recipe, depending on the
food, and spread it evenly over the food.
Fill the frying basket (1 1) with the food. For more information on the recommended fill
levels, see the table in section "9.2. Recommended settings" on page 66.
Hold the frying basket (1 1) firmly by the frying basket handle (10) and push it from the
front until it is completely inside the appliance.
