If you leave your kayak exposed to the hot sun, deflate it slightly.
The ambient temperature affects the tube's internal pressure : a variation of 1° C causes a variation of the pressure in
the tube of +/- 4 mBar.
REMOVABLE FIN (SK200DS)
It is recommended to use the fin in deep water (lake, sea...) where it will allow you to move forwards in a straight line.
Do not use it in shallow water or white water : the fin would deteriorate the bottom of the kayak in shallow water and
reduce the manoeuvrability in white water. The kayak is equipped with moulded directional strakes to allow a good
performance without fin.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
White Water running is very exciting and exhilarating; but it involves a certain risk, physical ability and danger in terms of
wear and tear on the equipment and to the paddlers. Even the most experienced river runner can make a mistake and
damage the kayak or themselves. No kayak or paddler can resist the strength of the water.
Only the proper handling of your kayak, your alertness, and your physical skills will make the difference.Never go white
watering alone. Always form a team of two or more boats, wear a helmet designed for white water running, know your
river and pull to the shore, get out and scout each set of rapids before running them.
International Scale of Whitewater Difficulty – Classifications
Rivers and individual rapids are rated according to their degree of difficulty, the International Scale of Whitewater
Difficulty is the most common rating system, it uses a scale of Class I through Class VI, Class I being the easiest and
Class VI being the Virtually un-runnable. Ratings are subjective and fluctuate considerably depending on the season,
water level and whether there are drought or flood conditions, class ratings are as follows:
Class Description
I
Easy - fast water with ripples or waves, all dangers are obvious, negligible risk to swimmers, easy self-rescue.
II
Novice - straightforward rapids with wide, clear channels evident without scouting.
Intermediate - rapids with moderate, irregular waves which may be difficult to avoid and may swamp a canoe.
III
Large wakes and strainers may be present, but are easily avoided. Scouting in advance is advised for
inexperienced parties.
Advanced - powerful but predictable rapids requiring precise handling in difficult water. Moderate to high risk to
IV
swimmers, group rescue is often required. Advance scouting is often required.
Expert - extrly long and/or violent rapids, often containing large, unavoidable obstacles, holes, steep banks, and
V
turbulent water. Rescuse is often difficult for experts, advance scouting may be difficult.
VI
Extreme - unexplored or uncharted rapids where navigation may be very difficult to impossible.

MAINTENANCE : DEFLATING – FOLDING THE ITEM – CLEANING – WINTERING STORAGE
1. Remove paddles and other accessories.
2. To deflate, open the valve cap of the high pressure valves, depress the pin and turn it clock wise to lock it in the open
position (the pin should stay down).
3. Clean and check the kayak as well as all the accessories after each use. Rinse it thoroughly making sure to remove
any residues of salt if used in salt water. Use a mild soapy solution, do not use detergents or any type of silicone-
based products. Make sure the product is completely dry before putting it away.
4. Fold the 2 sides into the middle, then roll up the kayak from the opposite end of the valves (so remaining air can
escape from the valves); start again if you feel there is still some air in the tubes.
5. When storing your kayak, keep it in a clean and dry place that is not affected from major variations in temperature
and other damaging factors. You may store the kayak deflated and rolled up in its bag or assembled and lightly
inflated (make sure you do not subject it to deformations). Store it away from rodents.
