4.3 Remote control

The remote control is supplied with a battery. Prior to
first operation of the remote control, remove the foil at
the battery support (18).
If the remote control stops functioning or if its range
is decreased, replace the battery: On the rear side of
the remote control, push the clip [(a) in fig. 4] of the
battery support to the right while simultaneously re-
moving the support in a downward movement. A 3 V
button cell of the type CR 2025 is required. When in-
serting the battery, observe the correct polarity, i. e. the
positive pole of the button cell must point upwards in
the support.
Never throw dead batteries into the household rub-
bish; always take them to a special waste disposal
(e. g. collecting container at your retailer).
5 Operation
The monitor can be operated both via the keys on its
front panel and via the remote control. When using the
remote control, always point it to the infrared sensor
(3) of the monitor.
1) If the monitor was folded up and locked at the sup-
port (2), slightly press the lower edge of its rear
panel (marked "PUSH", see fig. 2) to unlock it. Fold
down the monitor and turn it in the desired direction,
if required.
2) To switch on the lamps (1), actuate the switch (10)
on the rear side of the lamp part.
3) To switch on the monitor, actuate the key POWER
(11) on the remote control or press the key PWR (6)
on the unit for 2 s: The power LED (7) lights up and
the screen shortly displays the picture format select-
ed (factory-set to "FULL", also see operating step 6),
followed by the video standard used ("PAL" or
"NTSC") and the video source selected ("VIDEO 1"
or "VIDEO 2").
4) For switching between the two video sources con-
nected, use the key VIDEO SELECT (16) on the
remote control or shortly press the key PWR (6) on
the monitor.
5) Call the on-screen menu to make the picture ad-
justments (brightness, contrast, colour etc.) – see
chapter 5.1.
6) With the key MODE SELECT (12) on the remote
control, select the optimum format among 7 picture
formats. Each time the key is pressed, the next for-
mat is selected correspondingly:
FULL
16 : 9 picture format
NORMAL, NORMAL LEFT, NORMAL RIGHT
4 : 3 picture formats

CINEMA, WIDE 1, WIDE 2

7) The key MIRROR (13) on the remote control allows
vertical mirror-inverted display of the picture. To
cancel this function, actuate the key once again.
8) With the key DIMMER (17) on the remote control,
the background lighting of the screen can be adjust-
ed in three steps (dark – medium – bright). Each
time the key is pressed, the next step is selected
correspondingly.
5.1 Adjustments in the on-screen menu
Call the menu with the key MENU (5 or 15). The indi-
vidual menu functions can be successively selected by
pressing the key MENU and adjusted as desired with
the arrow keys (4 or 14). The function currently select-
ed is highlighted in yellow.

Approx. 3 s after the last actuation of a key, the menu
disappears.
1) To adjust BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, COLOR,
TINT*, and DIMMER (background lighting of the
screen), select the corresponding function and
adjust the desired value (min. 0 to max. 30) with the
arrow keys: To increase the value, press the arrow
key "Right"; to decrease the value, press the arrow
key "Left".
2) For a mirror-inverted display of the picture, select
the function UP/DOWN (horizontal and vertical mir-
ror-inverted display of the picture) or the function
MIRROR (only vertical mirror-inverted display of the
picture).
With the function selected, press the arrow key
"Right": "YES" in the line is red and the picture is
mirror-inverted. To cancel this function, press the
arrow key "Left": "NO" in the line is red and the pic-
ture display returns to normal again.
3) Via the function TV SYSTEM, select the video
standard for the monitor (European standard PAL or
American standard NTSC). The monitor is factory-
set to "AUTO", i. e. it is automatically adjusted to the
video standard of the corresponding video source
connected. This adjustment should be maintained if
the two video sources use different video standards
or if there is frequent switching between PAL and
NTSC video sources. However, if only PAL video
sources or only NTSC video sources are used, the
