5.2 Teaching in two gate/door
operators on one HSM4-io hand
transmitter (Fig. 4b )
(The ESE1-io receiver/transmitter unit and
the HSM4 hand transmitter are in ex-factory
settings)
Operator 1
• Affix the corresponding adhesive label to
the hand transmitter (Fig. 4b
• Insert the plug of the ESE1-io receiver/
transmitter unit into the BUS socket of
the operator unit (Fig. 3 ).
- The red LED of the ESE1-io will flash
slowly.

• Carefully press the "PRG" button on the
HSM4-io hand transmitter with a blunt
object for max. 1 s (Fig.
- Both LEDs of the hand transmitter will
flash green, slowly.
- The search for io-homecontrol
products is initiated. This may take up
to 2 min.
- If an ESE1-io receiver/transmitter unit is
recognised, the red LED of the receiver/
transmitter unit will light up.
- If both LEDs of the HSM4-io hand
transmitter flash green quickly, the
system key has been transferred.
• Press button "P" on the ESE1-io receiver/
transmitter unit once (Fig.
- The red LED will flash slowly.
). • On the HSM4-io hand transmitter, press
the top button (with a raised dot) for
operator 1 impulse mode (Fig.
- Both LEDs of the hand transmitter will

If the red LED on the ESE1-io receiver/
transmitter unit continues to flash and/
or both of the LEDs of the HSM4-io
hand transmitter light up red for approx.
4 s, this procedure has failed. Briefly
remove the ESE1-io plug from the BUS
socket, then plug it in again and repeat
all steps.
